ORGANIZATIONS


Manistique Art Club

Manistique Community Orchestra
The Manistique Community Orchestra presents two concerts a year, in the spring and fall. The Orchestra welcomes and encourages new members. If you play a musical instrument, or have played one in the past, consider joining the orchestra. There is room for all levels of players.

Manistique Chamber Music Series
A special series showcasing a variety of talented musicians joining Paul Lundin for three or four chamber music concerts each summer. They are held at the Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer, 314 Main Street, Manistique. For more information contact Mary Ellen Debelak, 341-6371.


Music in Manistique Summer Concert Series
Concerts are held at the Central Park Band Shell in Manistique Wednesday evenings from June through August starting at 7:00 pm. The concerts are organized and put on by the local Yeti group with help from local businesses and a grant from MCACA. Concerts feature a variety of musical groups and genres. Manistique Emerald Glee Club
Therese Mathews of Manistique is the volunteer director of this self-funded (donations welcome!) Glee Club for Manistique middle and high school students during the school year. Contact her for more information at 341-2866.


Drama Clubs
Both of the schools in our area, Manistique and Big Bay de Noc, have an active Drama Club which puts on one or two plays a year with many students participating.


Village Artisans of Garden
This active non-profit community arts organization was formed in 1983 in our neighboring community of Garden and was an inspiration for our own Lake Effect Arts. See their website at www.villageartisansofgarden.org for a list of their many activities.

   Lake Effect Art Gallery  Lake Effect Art Gallery, Manistique - Our own Art Gallery at Traders Point showcases for exhibit and sale a wonderful and inspiring array of talented artists of our communities.    The Mustard Seed  Mustard Seed, Manistique - Upstairs in the Mustard Seed gift shop is a pleasant Gallery of artwork by local artists. Check them out at 237 S. Cedar Street. The Mustard Seed on Facebook


Garden Gallery Garden Gallery, Garden - A popular stop for visitors to the Garden peninsula with a broad variety of regional art and craft. The Village Artisans started the Garden Gallery in 1985. They were the inspiration for Lake Effect Community Arts! www.villageartisansofgarden.org


   Christine's Gallery  Christine's Gallery, Nahma - A welcome new addition to the art scene, Christine Groleau's Gallery displays and sells artwork of many regional artists in a unique and wonderfully restored historic Nahma building. http://ChristinesGalleryStudio.com


   Manistique Senior Center Gift Shop  Manistique Senior Center Gift Shop - Located in the Manistique Senior Center, 101 Main Street, Manistique, this little shop carries quality handmade gifts at affordable prices. Over 25 crafters participate.

Erickson Center for the Arts Gallery and Gift Shop, Curtis - Our sister arts organization to the east of us also has a gallery and gift shop in the downstairs of their beautiful Erickson Center building. www.ericksoncenter.org
